LHHS 2009 grad and new Texas Cowboy David Bott with Smokey the Cannon

Lake Highlands grad David Bott was recently inducted into Texas Cowboys, an honorary men’s service organization founded in 1922 at the University of Texas. The Cowboys are seen in their trademark black hats and chaps at Longhorn football games firing Smokey the Cannon.

In addition to game day duties, the Cowboys act as ambassadors to the university at high-profile fundraisers and hands-on service projects. Already, David has participated in an event for ARC of Texas (Association for Retarded Citizens) and fired the cannon at Sally & Mack Brown’s Champions to Cure Duchenne gala, where he met Ricky Williams, Vince Young and Colt McCoy.

Joining David as a new Cowboy inductee is LHHS 2008 grad and former Bell Boy Stanton Morrow. Recent members have included Brad Ratliff (LH 2005), Matt Ashbaugh (LH 2004) and Drew Solomon (LH 2003).
