LHHS’ head custodian, John Potter, has died. Mr. Potter was a beloved fixture at the school for many years and a valued aide to students, teachers and parent volunteers.
Potter was home Friday morning and became short of breath, sat down in a chair and passed away. He had undergone knee surgery a few days ago.
“I’m so sad I might be sick,” grieved AP Social Studies teacher Casey Boland. “He made this place run, even though most people didn’t even know he was around. He was the nicest man you could hope to meet.”
“John was a fine man and loyal worker, always willing to do what was asked of him to help all of us at LHHS,” said Assistant Principal Mike Shea. “He will be greatly missed.”
Services will be held Saturday at 2:30 pm at True Lee Missionary Baptist Church, 3907 Bertrand Avenue in Dallas.
