The calendar may say fall, but the Lupners and the Lake Highlands Public Improvement District are throwing a big ole summer bash at the Lake Highlands Town Center on Sunday, and you know Watercrest Park will be rockin’.
Sundays in the Park is the LHPID’s recurring concert series, and the Lupners are frequent featured guests. The group sings all your favorites — from Journey to John Mellencamp, from Blondie to the Beatles, from K.C. and the Sunshine Band to Queen. The band played their first official gig together at Enchilada’s Restaurant on Greenville Avenue back in 2007, and they’ve been thrilling crowds at roadhouses and parties ever since.
Vicky Taylor, executive director of the PID and Advocate Magazine Fierce Female, says there will be a limited supply of free funnel cakes and corny dogs (or do you prefer corn dogs?) to set a State Fair of Texas vibe. She’ll have a balloon artist and face painting for the kids, and she reminds attendees to bring blankets and coolers. Entrance is free.
The Lupners’ Sundays in the Park concert will run from 5-7 p.m. on October 5. Entrance is free.
Watercrest Park is at the Lake Highlands Town Center, 7098 Watercrest Parkway.
