Early voting for the Nov. 5 general election begins on Monday, Oct. 21, and there are two polling locations in the Lake Highlands area neighbors can cast their ballots at.

Early voting locations, which include the Audelia Road Branch Library and Hamilton Park United Methodist Church, can be found on the Dallas County Elections Department’s website. The Library’s polling place can be found in the auditorium, whereas HPUMC’s will be in its gym. 

Early voting in Texas ends on Nov. 1.

To vote in Texas, neighbors must present one form of acceptable photo ID. Acceptable IDs include:

  • Texas Election Identification Certificate
  • Texas Personal Identification Card
  • Texas Handgun License
  • United States Military Identification Card with photograph
  • United States Citizenship Certificate with photograph
  • United States Passport
  • Texas Driver License issued by the Texas Department of Public Safety (DPS)

The hours for early voting centers are as follows:

Oct. 21-25: 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Oct. 26: 7 a.m. to 7 p.m.

Oct. 27: Noon to 6 p.m.

Oct. 28 to Nov. 1: 7 a.m. to 7 p.m.
