“As a former middle school teacher, I’ve seen first-hand how strong community support can make a meaningful difference in a teacher’s success,” said Jenny Littlefield, co-chair of the academic booster club. “I committed to support Wild for Cats because every student deserves access to a high-quality, engaging academic experience — not just the basics.”

Littlefield says state funding covers each student’s essential needs, but it often falls short of providing the tools and opportunities which truly enrich learning. Wild for Cats aims to bridge that gap.

Over the years, the academic booster club has paid for AVID college field trips, Advanced Placement testing fees and practice books, a 3D clay printer, podcast equipment, forensic science equipment, construction tools and supplies, mannequins and testing fees for cosmetology students to be certified upon graduation, graphing calculators, knitting supplies, physics demonstration materials and flexible seating options.

“I believe innovative technology, advanced test preparation and helping students participate in academic competitions and field trips make a meaningful difference in students’ daily learning and future opportunities,” she said. “Lake Highlands High School is the anchor of our amazing community, and Wild for Cats directly impacts every student today. A donation to Wild for Cats is an investment in the future of our one-of-a-kind community.”
