A full-service interior plant styling company, Plant Style occupies a small, verdant space on Northwest Highway near Ferndale Road. It opened in 2022, selling potted plants, arrangements and care products, in addition to consultations.

Owner Becky Sulton recently decided to open her doors to fellow small business owners to help them get through the dog days of summer.

“I just want to give back to all the businesses that have helped me along the way. I know that summer’s a rough time for small businesses,” Sulton said. “Everyone’s traveling or doing stuff with the kids or at home, so just trying to find a way to bring in other small businesses, to give them an opportunity to sell to a new market or meet new clients.”

Plant Style is offering vendor timeslots from Wednesday through Sunday for businesses to come and offer their products alongside its greenhouse offering. Two slots — 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. and 2-5 p.m. — are available for sign-ups each day. There are no setup costs, and Sulton says she isn’t asking for any of the proceeds.

She says she is looking for locally owned businesses and that a mathematician, a bicycle ice cream stand, a pottery seller, an antique shop and a jewelry maker have already signed up to make appearances.

“Everyone’s loving it. We actually had an 11-year-old girl whose grandma has moss balls in Wimberley on her land,” she said. “So she got the moss balls and created little pots and stuff with them, and had a great day. And the next day, someone actually came in, saw the post and was like, ‘Oh, I’m looking for those Spanish moss balls.’”

Beth Pearson, who sells Juice Plus products and was setting up when the Advocate arrived at Plant Style, said she welcomed the opportunity.

“The great thing about Becky having us here is we don’t have storefronts, so this gives us an opportunity to be out in front of people,” Pearson said.

The pop-up offerings will be available until the beginning of the school year. More information on sign-ups can be found on the Plant Style Facebook page.
