At Home, the DFW-based home goods retailer, has filed for bankruptcy and announced store closures, although the Lake Highlands location will remain open.
As reported by the Dallas Morning News, the Coppell-based company filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy on Monday. As part of the filing, the company has entered into a restructuring agreement with lenders that will eliminate most of the company’s $2 billion in debt, according to a release.
The agreement also provides a $200 million capital infusion and outlines changes to the company’s ownership structure. Tariffs were a driving factor in the process, as the company imported over 90% of its merchandise from overseas in 2025, The News reported.
According to court documents, the company will close 26 underperforming stores as a result of the restructuring. Most of the stores are located in coastal states like New York and California. None of the listed stores are in Texas, so the Timber Creek Crossing location appears to be safe for now.
The Lake Highlands store opened in Timbercreek Crossing in 2022. At Home currently operates seven stores in DFW.
