Lake Highlands High School has hired Emily Hubacek to lead the school’s volleyball team.
LHHS Principal Kerri Jones announced the hire Wednesday afternoon. Hubacek comes to Lake Highlands from Bryan High School, where she led the team to a playoff appearance for the first time in three years after stepping into the head coach’s role before the beginning of this season.

She started her collegiate career on Texas A&M Corpus Christi’s D1 volleyball team before transferring to Texas A&M to join the club team, where she won two National Collegiate Club Volleyball Championships.
In addition to her tenure at Bryan High School, Hubacek has served as an assistant coach at Houston Skyline and led the Texas A&M Boys’ club volleyball team.
The Lady Wildcats finished the 2024-25 season with a 29-13 overall record, going 11-1 in UIL District 7-6A play.
