The former White Rock Skate Center building is currently up for sale, along with the 2.7-acre lot it sits on.
Chuck Connor, son of the original WRSC owner, sold the property in 2016 to real estate developer Stuart Jones. The developer paved the way for the development of Shoreview Flats, but the skate center has remained vacant for close to a decade. Now, real estate group Davidson Bogel is looking to sell the property, as advertised on its website.
The property brochure advertises “strong connectivity to major Dallas thoroughfares, a unique elevation advantage and potential rooftop views of Downtown Dallas.” Current zoning allows for a private recreation center, apartments, restaurant, club or bar.
According to a Morning News article on the property, while no price has been advertised, local real estate experts estimate a sale price of around $6.2 million. The former credit union building located to the front of WRSC on Shoreview Road is also part of the sale.
White Rock Skate closed after the 2016 sale, marking the end of over four decades of rollerblading for East Dallas and Lake Highlands.
