This year’s race will mark the 20th anniversary of the Lake Highlands Junior Women’s League’s annual fundraising event. In addition to the traditional 5K race, a one-mile family trail walk and carnival following the race have been planned.

After Jan. 30, registration prices will increase by $5 for the family walk and $10 for the 5K. The early bird registration price for the 5K is $35, and the price for the family walk is $30. There is a $5 dollar youth discount for participants aged 12 and under, and groups of four or more will get $5 off each individual registration. Participant packets can be picked up at Vector Brewing from April 10-11.

Multiple roads around Lake Highlands High School and the recreation center, where the race is being held, will be blocked off that morning beginning at 7:45 a.m. Most roads will reopen by 10 p.m, although the stretch of Church Road in front of LHHS is expected to remain closed until 11 p.m. A complete route and road closure map can be found here.

All proceeds from the race go towards LHJWL’s annual fundraising efforts, which support local projects like the construction of the new playground at Flag Pole Hill.
