The American people can be fickle. Some election cycles, they opt to put a Republican in the White House, and sometimes they elect a Democrat. One thing has been consistent, though, for 32 years — the Wildcat Wranglers of Lake Highlands High School have been pleasing audiences at inauguration festivities for every president since Bill Clinton.

The Texas State Society hosts their big Black Tie and Boots Ball each Inauguration Eve, and the highlight of the evening is the moment our favorite boot scooters arrive to put on a show. Despite the tuxes and ball gowns worn by big donors last night, I’m told the ballroom was rockin’ when our lone star-wearing Wranglers turned up the country music and turned on the charm.

In addition to performing for the Texas delegation, the students and their parent chaperones have been taking in the sights of Washington, D.C. Frosty temperatures forced inauguration planners to pull the swearing in ceremony inside, but the hardy Wranglers have made their history and social studies teachers proud by soaking up the sights of the nation’s capital. They’ve shared a few photos below.
