As of the close of early voting in Dallas County on Nov. 1, 633,142 votes have been cast out of 1,469,952 registered voters, according to data from the Dallas County Elections Department. In 2020, roughly 720,000 votes were cast in Dallas County during early voting.

However, it is worth noting that in 2020, Texans were given an extra week for early voting due to COVID-19.

In Lake Highlands, the Audelia Road Branch Library has reported just under 5,000 fewer ballots cast in the early voting period from 2020. 13,640 votes have been cast during the early period at the library, as opposed to 18,419 in 2020.

However, this discrepancy could be attributed, partially, to the addition of another early voting center in Lake Highlands, Hamilton Park United Methodist Church. Through the early voting period, 5,265 votes have been cast at HPUMC. Additionally, this year’s turnout at the library closely mirrors numbers reported in 2016 at Bethany Lutheran Church, which served as the area’s primary early voting center for that election.

Polls close at 7 p.m. tonight. For more information on voting centers near you, click here.
