White Rock Que began with just 40 attendees as a way to demonstrate support for survivors of a serial rapist in our neighborhood and raise funds for the Dallas Area Rape Crisis Center. Eleven years later, the effort has been named one of the Best Charity Events in DFW and routinely attracts more than 1,700 participants.
Oak Highlands Brewery will host this year’s barbecue festival and competition Saturday, Oct. 19 from 4 to 9 p.m. with barbecue, live music and craft beer. The theme is “Not Our First Rodeo,” and proceeds will support the critical work DARCC does for survivors of sexual assault. White Rock Que raised $165,000 for DARCC last year alone.
Oak Highlands Brewery is at 10484 Brockwood. Tickets are available online here.
