From 6-9 p.m, owls, turtles and one leucistic (white) opossum named Coconut — a local celebrity in his own right — can be found at the Vector Brewing patio. NWTC staff will be on hand to answer questions and collect donations for the Center. Baked goods — which sources close to the event insist were not baked by Coconut or his companions — will be on sale as well.

The event is being held in connection with North Texas Giving Day, a major giving event which raises millions of dollars a year for hundreds of local nonprofit organizations. While the actual day is Sept. 19, the early giving period has already begun.

The North Texas Wildlife Center is a local nonprofit organization which cares for and rehabilitates injured or orphaned area wildlife. NTWC is currently in the process of finding land and funding for a publicly-accessible, dedicated rehab facility.

There will also be a NTWC-themed round of animal trivia with Josh Provo from 7 to 9 p.m.
