A little over two months after the Lake Highlands location of Alamo Drafthouse Cinema closed, the theater officially reopened its doors for the first time last night.
Alamo reopened tuesday for a friends and family night open to the public, with $5 tickets and 50% food and drinks. There were exceptions for beverages. Today, Aug. 13, will be the theater’s official reopening.
Current films showing at Alamo include “Deadpool and Wolverine” and “Alien: Romulus.” Tickets for shows are currently selling fast, perhaps due to a combination of cheap prices and neighbors glad to have their local theater back. For the next two weeks, ticket prices have been reduced to $5 and discounts on food and beverage items will be available. Rain check tickets are available to customers who had bought tickets before the closure.
