White Rock Lake-based Dallas United Crew has announced the hiring of Dylan Chan as its new girls’ head coach.
“I’m thrilled to join Dallas United Crew as the Women’s Head Coach,” Chan said in the Facebook announcement. “For nearly a decade, I’ve admired DUC as one of the premier programs and coaching opportunities in the country. When I was given the chance to join the team, I was both humbled and eager.”
Chan comes to the DUC from the Hockaday School after serving as assistant crew coach for five years, during which time Hockaday rowers won two Scholastic National Championships. He formerly rowed at the University of Oklahoma, where he helped lead the club to its first appearance in the men’s championship double at the prestigious Head of the Charles Regatta, according to a Hockaday profile.
Dallas United Crew, founded in 2002, is a nonprofit organization which offers rowing programs for youth and adults of all ages and experience. Richardson ISD students are eligible to satisfy their P.E. credits through participation.
