The Midtown Improvement District will host its Back to School Fair for area youth at the Vickery Park Branch Library on Aug. 3.

Offering giveaways, food and entertainment, the fair aims to provide an upbeat and positive kickoff for the school year, organizers told The Advocate. It will run from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m.

The event will have a live DJ, facepainting and bounce houses for attendees. Free food will also be provided courtesy of Back Country BBQ and Monarca Fruteria

The Shops at Park Lane and Costco are supporting the event.

Gift bags with school supplies will be handed out to attendees. Area health providers will be on-site offering information. The Dallas Police Department will also be present providing safety tips.
