The Olympic party is designed for families, and school-aged children will especially enjoy the games and crafts.

Opening ceremonies for the 2024 Summer Olympics kick off later this month in Paris, but you won’t need a plane ticket or hotel reservation to enjoy the fun. Our own Audelia Road Library is hosting a Go for the Gold Olympics party July 27, and participation is free.

The fun begins with an Olympic Scavenger Hunt at noon, followed by a fencing demonstration hosted by the Fencing Institute of Texas. Fencing is a sport of dueling with swords and is one of only five events, along with athletics/track, cycling, gymnastics and swimming, to have been included in every modern Olympics.

Golden Tiger will present a Taekwondo demonstration at 1 p.m., then participants will compete in the Go for the Gold game. Crafts and games will continue until 3.

The library is at 10045 Audelia Road.
