Celebrated every year on July 14, the holiday commemorates the storming of the Bastille, a medieval era prison which symbolized the power of France’s absolute monarchy, according to the Encycoedia Britannica. The event is often recognized as the start of the French Revolution.

Resident Taqueria, opened in 2015 by Chef Andrew Savoie, has built a reputation for tacos which push the envelope. Notable creations over the years include an escargot taco, a paneer kathi roll and a chinese duck taco.
