Woman killed in shooting near Forest and Plano

Correction: The victim has been identified as 41-year old Crystal Daniels by DPD. Sonya Warren was the victim of an unrelated homicide from July 6.

Update: 32-year-old Yons Alshabli was arrested later Tuesday for murder in connection with the incident, police say. Alshabli is being held on a $1,000,000 bond. 49-year-old Sonya Warren has been identified as the victim by the Dallas County Medical Examiner’s Office.

A woman was killed in a shooting near the intersection of Forest Lane and Plano Road early this morning.

At 2:45 a.m, Dallas police responded to a call of shots fired in the 11500 block of Plano Road, according to DPD. In their initial investigation, officers found a woman shot in a parking lot. The victim has not yet been identified, and died at the scene, police say. 

The Dallas County Medical Examiner’s office will assist in identifying the victim. 

There is no information available on the suspect at this time, police say.

The incident is part of an ongoing investigation.
