Enjoy comedy night at the Elks Lodge

Elks Lodge 71 | 8550 Lullwater Dr | 7:00 p.m. Saturday

Open to the public, the Elks Lodge’s summer comedy night is a great way to get some laughs. Hosted by Khris Germany and headlined by Mikey B, the show also features Angela Owen – back by popular demand – and Laron Wright. Tickets online are $25 and go up to $30 at the door. Doors open at 7 p.m. and the show starts at 8.

Lochlands | 8518 Plano Rd

Two of the world’s biggest sporting events are currently taking place, so why not get in on the excitement? At Lochland’s you can watch heavyweights like France, Argentina, England and the U.S. compete for continental glory with a pint of Guinness or craft cocktail. Lochland’s also offers match time classics to snack on, with fish and chips, shepherd’s pie and burgers all available.

Have tea at the Arboretum

Dallas Arboretum and Botanical Garden | 8525 Garland Rd

Priced at $62 a person, guests can enjoy a traditional tea service at the DeGolyer Tea Room with an assortment of teas and tea sandwiches. Wine and champagne are also available. There are two seatings available daily, at 11 a.m. and 2 p.m. Reservations must be made 24 hours in advance. Children’s tea services are also available.

Bowl!

Bowl & Barrel| 8084 Park Ln

Located at the Shops at Park Lane, Bowl & Barrel is the perfect location to unwind with a group of friends and family. On Friday and Saturday, lanes are $70 an hour, with shoe rental coming out to $6 a person. On Sunday, the cost goes down to $40. Bowl & Barrel also has an extensive food and beverage menu, with a green chile grilled cheese, ranch waters, giant pretzels and more.

Go for a run at one of the area’s trails

Looking for a more active outing? The Lake Highlands area is home to multiple trails, a map of which can be found here. Whether you’re running along on the Lake Highlands Trail, or headed toward the lake on White Rock Creek Trail, Lake Highlands’ trails are always available for a light jog or bike ride.
