Project Unity, a nonprofit that hosts collaborative community events, is hosting its 7th annual Together We Ball Event. One of the featured coaches on the lineup is Lake Highlands High School’s own Coach Joe Duffield.

The coaching crew for the game includes Duffield, Nicholas Smith of Kimball High School, and SMU basketball coaches Rob Lanier and Toyelle Willson. Featured cohosts for the event include Dallas Mavericks CEO Cynt Marshall, SMU Director of Athletics Rick Hart, Dallas Police Chief Eddie Garcia and Dallas County Sheriff Marian Brown.

The event will feature a youth skills and drills camp, community resource fair, community three-point contest and big game draft, “The Big Game” and a scholarship drawing. There will also be free concession meals to the first 200 kids, a live DJ and more.

Project Unity’s Together We Ball game will be held from 1 – 6 p.m. this Sunday, Aug. 27 at SMU’s Moody Coliseum is located at 3009 Binkley Ave.
