In a weekend letter to parents and the Hamilton Park Pacesetter Magnet community, Principal Jerald Wilson announced he won’t be returning for the 2023-24 school year.
After a year at the school, Wilson will move on to complete his doctoral studies at Abilene Christian University. Wilson has spent 14 years in education, specifically in primary and secondary schools.
The experience will be something he’ll cherish, according to Wilson’s letter.
“My hope has always been to create a safe, engaging, and positive environment for teachers, staff, and students. I am most proud of our work to close achievement gaps and bring back activities such as the HPPM Veterans Parade, Flag Raising, Parent Nights, Principal’s Coffees/Chats and grade level field trips,” Wilson writes in the letter.
As the Hamilton Park Pacesetter prepares for the transition, Richardson ISD will keep parents posted in the coming weeks about the school’s next steps.
