Merriman Park Estates residents hosted a farewell parade for Terance Robinson, their dedicated postman. After 30 years delivering mail to their neighborhood — and a total of 40 years working for the U.S. Postal Service — Robinson delivered his final envelope Saturday.

“Terance has always been here for us, whether it was snowing or raining or whatever,” said Lila Schrank, who has lived in the neighborhood with husband Oran for 48 years. “He’s always on time, and he gives us the right mail. We love him.”

“You always see him with a smile on his face,” agreed Suzy Visintainer, an MPE resident for more than 24 years. “He always seems like he’s happy, and he does a great job. We always look forward to seeing him.”

Robinson lives in Mesquite and plans to head off on a well-deserved cruise with his wife to kick off his retirement. He was a bit sheepish to find gifts and cards at the end of his route, but he waved and tipped his hat and bowed in gratitude.

“There’s something comforting about seeing Terance every day,” said Regan Macnamara, who learned to appreciate her postman after 13 years living in the neighborhood. “Every week, head down, he’s a hard worker, and he always gives the kids a big wave.”
