White Rock Lake Conservancy is now accepting submissions for it spring photo contest.
To enter the competition, submit one or two photos to the conservancy’s website, or post the photo on Instagram with #23wrlcphoto1.
The photos must be submitted by April 11.
A panel of photographers and board members of the nonprofit organization will narrow down the submissions to two photos, and those will be shared on social media. The photo with the most likes wins.
And it’s not just bragging rights. The photographer will also receive a one-year membership to the conservancy, which includes invites to quarterly networking happy hours, a T-shirt and sticker, monthly newsletters about White Rock Lake and 50% off registration to Celebration White Rock.
There will be two contests this year, one in the spring and the other in the fall. In December, the final four images — two from each competition — will be judged by conservancy members to win an engraved stone in the Pave the Way area at White Rock Lake.
Photos must be original. They must depict wildlife, wooded areas, architecture or the lake. They will be judged on originality, technical excellence, composition, overall impact and artistic merit. Copies of historical photos may also be submitted.
Disclaimer: When you submit a photo (or photos), you’re giving the conservancy permission to use the photo in any online or print materials with no credit given to the photographer, though the conservancy said they try to give photo credits on everything.
Submit photos and read more details about the contest here.
In the past, White Rock Lake Conservancy has provided funds to restore the Stone Tables. One of its current activities is working with Dallas Park and Recreation on a project at the old Dreyfuss Club site.
