And as this bird’s-eye-view photo of a long and winding queue at Spec’s at Walnut Hill and Central makes it way around the inter webs, speculation abounds — are people this desperate over the prospect of two full days of closed liquor stores? Is Spec’s giving the good stuff away? Are we missing something?
Thanks to the comments section (something you won’t often hear from me) we learn that it’s a special day at Spec’s beyond the whole holiday, new year thing.
Spec’s promoted on its Facebook and Insta pages a Dec. 30 “bourbon drop” at select Texas stores, including the 9500 North Central location.
“Mark your calendars for our biggest in-store Bourbon Release event on Friday, December 30th! Stay tuned to our social channels for daily story posts showcasing which Spec’s Private Select products will be included and tag the bourbon lovers in your life in the comments below 🥃,” promoters announced.
The Fox 4 News helicopter reported the line was still around the parking lot as of 2 p.m. Friday, Dec. 30. Good luck, bourbon heads.
