The athletes and their families sponsored 20 elementary-school children and delivered clothes, bedding and toys to Umphrey Lee Elementary School, a Dallas ISD campus, this month.

White Rock Rowing draws many athletes from East Dallas and Lake Highlands.

“It is a tremendous joy to work with the Boys and Girls Club, whether we’re partnering to give free rowing camps to kids in summertime or donating gifts to make their Christmas that much more special,” Sue Ellen Chambers, the president of White Rock Boathouse, Inc., says in a news release. “Giving back is part of White Rock Rowing’s DNA because we don’t just build good athletes here; we also build leaders and bright futures.”
