Arlan Hamilton, the founder of Backstage Capital and a Lake Highlands High School alumna, will be one of the speakers at AfroTech Conference.
The conference makes a big in-person return after a two-year hiatus since 2019. Investors, musicians and more all come together to build connections over technology and entertainment.
Hamilton will be one of more than 100 speakers and will discuss with Ryan Wilson, the CEO of the Gathering Spot, how she became a venture capitalist. Through Backstage Capital, she has invested in 200 startups led by women, people of color and LGBT founders.
Aside from Backstage Capital, Hamilton is also an author and founder of Hire Runner, a software connecting operations talent with companies.
The AfroTech Conference happens from Nov. 13-17 at Austin Convention Center.
