White Rock Paddle Company is calling it quits after 13 seasons on White Rock Lake.  Owners say new “vendor criteria” is making it difficult to compete “as a small business.”

In a note posted on Facebook, the kayak rental company thanked customers and said they were honored and thankful for the time they had.

Owners Angeline Koh and Amy Ebert say they’ll continue working “real jobs” in the neighborhood, which includes project management for Koh and real estate agency for Ebert, who says in the notice that she will be a Realtor in theLakewood/Lake Highlands Ebby Halliday office.

This weekend, Oct. 1, 2, from 9 a.m.-5 p.m. White Rock Paddle Co. will be at the lake selling gear and equipment “as is,” according to the website.

We have reached out to the owners in hopes of learning more about those prohibitive “vendor criteria” and will add to this post as we learn more.
