Alex Temblador, the founder and host of LitTalk, will make an appearance at the Half Price Books flagship this Sunday, Sept. 18 as part of Hispanic Heritage Month,
Half Outlaw is the story of one woman’s quest to find a better future while still wrestling with a tumultuous past. It is also Temblador’s first adult novel.
Latina protagonists are a staple in Temblador’s work, including her award-winning Secrets of the Casa Rosada. Temblador has won multiple awards for her writing, including the 2019 National Association for Chicana and Chicano Studies Tejas Foco Young Adult Fiction Award and Kirkus Reviews’ Best of YA Books 2018.
Temblador will join Samantha Mabry, Lake Highlands neighbor and author of Tigers, Not Daughters, for a book signing and discussion at 1 p.m. The two will also discuss their culture in their work in a discussion moderated by Half Price Books’ Becky Gomez.
