The dining concept of Local Favorite Restaurant Group President David Romano, Wok Star was inspired by a need for fun dining.

“Wok Star brings a unique dining experience that our guests won’t find elsewhere, and our first anniversary is a testament to our unforgettable flavors and premium service,”Romano said in a release. “We look forward to celebrating many more anniversaries with our valued guests.”

Here, the dining environment is 80s themed with a playlist of music hits and a menu filled with modern approaches to Chinese cuisine. The  menu is crafted by Executive Chef Ping Lee.

“Growing up in Hong Kong led to my passion for creating cultural Chinese cuisine,” Lee says. “For me, it’s not just about creating great-tasting food — it’s also about the connections made through the communal dining experience.”

The event is free to the public and runs from 11 a.m.-2 p.m., drink specials are from 3 p.m.- 6 p.m., at Wok Star at 8041 Walnut Hill Lane.
