Mark Twain was quoting his friend and fellow novelist Charles Dudley Warner when he famously said, “Everyone complains about the weather, but nobody does anything about it.” If you and your family are ready to get in out of the heat, Wilshire Baptist Church librarian Barbara Peterson invites you to find a wealth of treasures waiting to be discovered.

Library patrons needn’t be church members, she says – in fact all are welcome to roam the library and check out books. Established in 1954, Wilshire’s 16,000 items range from colorful selections for kids to choices from the bestseller list for adults.

The library is located near the church’s front office on the first floor on the south side of the building. It’s open from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. weekdays.

The library will host an Usborne Book Fair for the community October 12, featuring children’s books from Usborne Publishing in London. Usborne stories feature characters of all ethnicity, age and gender and are produced ethically and safely.
