Before the season even began, the Wildcat baseball team said they knew this year would be special. They devoted their efforts to Chris Miller, alum of the program and father of a graduate player, who’d helped organize and play in their annual alumni game. At the start of the season, they dedicated the alumni game to Miller and pledged proceeds to the newly formed “Chris Miller 90 Feet Forward Foundation,” set up to honor his memory and provide educational and athletic scholarships.
The Cats completed regular season play last week and knocked it out of the park. They earned a 12-0 shutout over Irving to secure Coach Andy Parker’s 100th career win and the team’s fifth straight playoff appearance. Lake Highlands (16-10-1) will face Arlington Martin (17-9) Friday night at 7 at Duncanville. Game 2 will be Saturday at 1 p.m. at Duncanville, and game 3, if necessary, will follow game 2.
Duncanville High School is at 900 W. Camp Wisdom Road.
