Friends of the Lake Highlands Trail meet tonight. You can join in person or online to learn about what’s happening with Dallas’ trail system and Lake Highlands’ role. Members will reveal the results of a recent survey, talk about upcoming events including an April 30 cleanup at Watercrest Park (from 10-noon) and the May 20 Bike to Work Day. If you have the bandwidth in your life, you could even volunteer for a leadership position with the Friends group.

In case you missed it, The Advocate in March published a story about Dallas’ trail connections, and how trail advocates helped turn Oncor easements like the one in Lake Highlands into linear parks.

And if you don’t have time tonight, the group hosts a similar meeting Wednesday, April 13.

The meetings begin at 6:30 at Lake Highlands North Recreation Center, 9940 White Rock Trail.
