MoMo has a delicious menu and extensive wine list, which you may view here. Of course, you don’t have to take our word for it. A year ago, we asked 15 Lake Highlands leaders to share their favorite dishes from restaurants around the neighborhood. Two said they keep MoMo on constant rotation.

“We have dined at MoMo since around 2003 or 2004. They’ve always made authentic and very good Italian food,” said Joe Duffield, head coach of the area champion Wildcat varsity basketball team. “The Conchiglie a Modo Mio pasta dish uses a shell pasta and has a good combination of chicken, pork and salame mixed in with a very good red sauce. The Trenette alla MoMo is a very good dish using more traditional spaghetti noodles with some shrimp and salmon mixed in.”

“We have been going to MoMo’s since long before it moved to the new location,” agreed Jean Bono, then a member of RISD’s school board. “My young wiggly sons used to be highly entertained by the fish tanks in the old locale. Never had better risotto than there, and the owners treat you like friends.”

MoMo is at 8989 Forest near Greenville Avenue. They’re open from 5-8:30 p.m., and you may call in your order at 972-234-6800.

If you want to watch the Wildcats play, the boys play at Irving Nimitz Friday night (JV Red at 4:15, JV Black at 5:45 and varsity at 7:15) and take on Richardson Tuesday night at home. When the boys play at home, the girls are away. Go Cats!
