Lake Highlands United Methodist Artists of Christian Talent (ACT) opens their production of The Music Man on Friday, Feb. 11. There are five performance dates.
The Meredith Willson musical, which debuted on Broadway in 1957, follows the story of young Harold Hill, a trombone player who arrives in River City, Iowa. He tries convincing everyone he’s a bandleader, but librarian Marian Paroo and other residents don’t buy his act and things don’t go as planned for Harold.
Harold’s facade grows fragile as he becomes smitten with both the town and Marian. The musical features actors from grades 7th through 12th.
Show times and dates for The Music Man are 7:30 p.m. on Feb. 11 and Feb. 17-19 and 2:00 p.m. on Feb. 13. Tickets are $12 and can be purchased on showtix4u. For more information, email info@actlhumc.com.
