Wok Star Chinese is hosting a Lunar New Year celebration, including a special dinner.
On Feb. 1, the restaurant owned by Preston Hollow resident David Romano is offering soup dumplings, a traditional dish.
The featured cocktail is the “forbidden dao,” which has Malibu watermelon rum, El Cantinero grapefruit and fresh grapefruit juice.
In addition to the menu items, Wok Star will have traditional dragon dancers from Lion Dance Sports Association. They are scheduled to perform at 6 p.m. Chinese lanterns will be given away.
The celebration marks the year of the tiger. People born in the year of the tiger were born in 1938, 1950, 1962, 1974, 1986, 1998, 2010 and 2022.
Romano’s restaurant opened for take-out and third-party delivery in April 2021 in the former Nazca space. Dine-in service was available one month later.
Wok Star Chinese is located at 8041 Walnut Hill Lane in The Hill.
