The fact that rent prices in Dallas are increasing is no big surprise to anyone. Lake Highlands, however, is faring quite well compared to other Dallas neighborhoods.

In a report released by Apartment Advisor, Lake Highlands is one of the top three areas to watch for. Lake Highlands, alongside Oak Cliff and Old East Dallas, are expected to be in high demand on the rental market this year.

Compared to other apartment areas, the rent is lower and more competitive for those looking for a new place to call home. In fact, the median rent for a one bedroom in Lake Highlands is about $990, according to Apartment Advisor.

Looking at a map of the most and least expensive areas of Lake Highlands, it becomes more obvious why renters are clamoring to move here. A map on Best Neighborhood.org shows most pockets of the neighborhood are somewhere in between mid-tier and very affordable.

Some of the most affordable sections are along Abrams, Forest Lane, Greenville Avenue and Skillman. North Lake Highlands and Vickery Meadow are more affordable than the areas immediately surrounding them.
