Lake Highlands YMCA
The YMCA of Metropolitan Dallas scholarship is open for graduating seniors who are active at any of the Dallas centers. The deadline to submit applications is Jan. 17.
Students are eligible if they are a child of a YMCA employee, volunteer, program participant, donor or member. So, if your child is very active at Lake Highlands Family YMCA, they can apply.
Selected students must also be available to attend an interview in February and a reception in May to formally accept the award.
Some of the metrics applicants are measured by include college entrance scores, high school grades, community service and financial need. The YMCA foundation will also consider students’ personal motivation toward higher education.
YMCA will accept applications by mail or delivery to the T. Boone Pickens location, which is at 601 N. Akard St. Applications by fax or email are not accepted. More details are on the YMCA of Greater Dallas annual college scholarship website.
