Lake Highlands High School grad Annie Clark, also known around the world as rock star St. Vincent, appeared on The Late, Late Show with James Corden Tuesday night. Clark kept Corden riveted with stories about their mutual friend, Sir Paul McCartney and performed “At the Holiday Party” from her new Grammy-nominated album, Daddy’s Home.

Clark said she was inspired from her favorite music from the 1970s  – “a very fertile time” well before she graduated LHHS in 2001.

Clark makes frequent trips home to see her family in Lake Highlands, and this year she encouraged them all to get into the Christmas spirit.

“I have started to make my family perform a version of Charles Dickens’ A Christmas Carol in full Victorian garb,” she told Corden.

“Stop,” he said. “Hang on, how many people are we talking about?”

“I have a huge family, so there are parts for everyone – for my young nephews, who are four, up to the parents, who are in their 70s,” Clark said. “It’s a musical, and I’m not in it, but I play a very exacting director.”

The family calls their production “A Clarkmas Carol.”
