Karen Foust’s family cautions visitors not to stand too long in one spot. Her passion is personalization, and they joke that she’ll monogram anything that’s not moving.
Foust stays especially busy with her professional embroidery machine over the holidays, but busy is just how she likes it. She enjoys creating specialized gifts for her Lake Highlands neighbors and envisioning their glee when they open the package.
“I’ve always been a crafty person,” says Foust. “My mother was an artist, and I got my craftiness from her. I worked in medical sales until COVID hit, and I don’t sit still for very long. Before the pandemic, I created Studio K Designs and I did some painting and personalizing on the side. Now, I’ve put all of my energy into doing this and I love it. I love being creative, and I’m constantly thinking about what I can create next.”
Foust embroiders on pajamas, hats, bags, shirts, towels and most other items delivered to her front porch. She can heat press or sublimate t-shirts, cups and koozies, and she’s well-known in Canton for her “BarkDanas,” which are personalized dog bandanas worn over the collar. She laser burns handmade raw edge charcuterie boards, and she hand paints wood signs and wine glasses. Personalized Yetis are also big sellers.
Foust has catalogs to help customers select their gifts, but many already have their goodies ready for personalization when they contact her. She makes the process easy – simply drop your items on her doorstep at 9212 Clover Valley Drive, and she’ll contact you when they are ready for pickup. You may reach her at karen@foustphotography.com or 214-850-3417.
Foust also does family, wedding, baby and senior photos, and you may check out Foust Photography here.
