A boy gets his face painted at Light Up the Highlands in 2019.
It’s baaack! Light Up the Highlands is returning to the Town Center, and volunteers from the Lake Highlands Junior Women’s League are gearing up to make 2021 the most lit year yet. LHJWL’s annual multigenerational event is the neighborhood’s official kick off to Christmas.
Light Up the Highlands will feature ice skating, a snow luge, holiday-themed performances and much more. The highlight will be an appearance by Santa and his reindeer, who’ll illuminate the center’s enormous Christmas tree with the flourish only Kris Kringle can provide.
Light Up the Highlands runs from 4 – 6 p.m. Nov. 28 and attendance is free. Non-perishable food items and cash donations will be gratefully accepted for the Reverse Food Truck, a ministry of NorthPark Presbyterian Church which partners with the Vickery Meadow Food Pantry and seeks to reverse hunger in our community.

(Almost) everyone loves Santa.
