As we close out October with Halloween and fall festivities, there are still some things to get into. There’s a show featuring a Lake Highlands’ neighbor, bowling and fun for kids and an old school party at a local restaurant and Halloween trivia with brews.

1.Sunday Funday at Bowl & Barrel

On Sunday, Bowl & Barrel is hosting a Halloween special kid’s bowl. Children are encouraged to wear costumes. Children under the age of 12 fet lunch, a one hour bowl and shoe rental. The cost is $10 for children under 12.

The event is from open to close, 10 a.m. to 6 p.m., inside the shops at Park Lane at 8080 Park Ln.

2. Ol’ Skool Party at FireBird Fowl

FireBird Fowl is taking it way back to the old school. The theme of this Halloween party is Heaven and Helloween with music from the 80s, 90s and 2000s.

The event is on Saturday at 6 p.m. FireBird Fowl is located at 2816 Fairmount St.

3. The Snow on the Pine at Poor David’s Pub

On Saturday, Lake Highlands neighbor Jenni Mansfield Peal is set to perform at Poor David’s Pub. Peal is a folk singer and songwriter. She’ll perform some of her new and favorite originals, and guests are encouraged to dress as their favorite dead character from a song. 

There will be a Halloween costume party following her set. The show starts at 8 p.m. at Poor David’s Pub at 1313 Botham Jean Blvd. Tickets are $20 and can be purchased here.

4. Vector Brewing Monotone Trivia: Halloween edition 

Vector Brewing will have a special edition of trivia and a team costume contest this Tuesday. There will be prizes, special guests and special beers.

Monotone Trivia night starts at 7 p.m. at 9850 Walnut Hill Ln.
