An update on the proposed construction of Lake Highlands Middle School will take place 6:30 p.m. Sept. 2.
Richardson ISD will hold the update on construction plans at the auditorium of Lake Highlands Junior High School. The district is welcoming any neighbor questions or feedback on the project at the meeting.
The last update on the project took place at an RISD board meeting in June. There, staff were directed to make adjustments to the construction design in response to homeowner requests to relocate the dumpsters on the new school. The redesign to accommodate the change adds an estimated $1 million to the project.
The junior high is being transitioned to a middle school as part of a district shift, approved and paid for by a $750 million bond passage in 2021. Lake Highlands Junior High is first in line for the transformation.
