An arrest has been made in connection with the Fourth of July shooting that left three dead near Hamilton Park.

The investigation is still ongoing, according to the Dallas Police Department, and a suspect’s name is not being released at this time.

Three people died and three others were wounded after the shooting at a block party near Hamilton Park at 8300 Towns Street that night. Five victims were taken to the hospital, where three men died from their injuries.

The victims of the homicide have been identified as Alvin Ray Murray III, 22, Hassan Blazer, 19, and 17-year-old Mi’quarius Alexander. A third victim with non-life-threatening injuries came forth, totaling six gunshot wound victims, per Dallas PD.

KDFW reports based on an affidavit that the arrested suspect is 19-year-old Akil Anderson and that he is now facing two capital murder charges while being held at the Dallas County jail.

Police shared footage from surveillance cameras nearby, which showed the suspects moments before they began shooting. Some gunfire can be seen in the distance in another attached video.
