Richardson ISD teachers and staff have the opportunity receive their first dose of the COVID vaccination over Spring Break.
Texas Education Agency’s Region 10 will offer 1,700 first doses to interested RISD staff next week, according to an update from the board of trustees at their March 8 meeting.
Additionally, the district has partnered with Methodist Richardson Medical Center to pursue an allocation of COVID vaccines for teachers and staff, per the update.
This all comes after Texas school employees gained eligibility last week to receive the vaccine.
RISD is working to receive the allocation to distribute within the district.
Teachers and staff who become vaccinated will continue to review other health and safety protocols for the 2020-21 school year, including using desk shields.
