Calling all artists! The Dallas Public Library is inviting visual artists from all backgrounds to submit artwork that shares their perspective of North Lake Highlands and Hamilton Park.
In a virtual neighborhood series titled “Dallas 101,” artists are encouraged to submit their work in the form of an image that can be used for coloring. Modest honorarium will be provided.
The goal of the series is to curate art that is inspired by the different Dallas neighborhoods with a focus on quirky or overlooked angles from each neighborhood. The project will run from Feb. 1 to Dec. 31.
Work representing North Lake Highlands and Hamilton Park is due on March 31.
Submissions for art should include a 150-200 word artist’s statement detailing the connection to the theme “Dallas 101” and a file submitted submitted image to art@dallascityhall.com.
Themes and questions the artwork may address include uniqueness, community diversity, neighborhood history and the significance of the neighborhood. Submissions should be suitable for public view and follow the Dallas Public Library’s Exhibition Policy.
For more information and deadline dates, interested artists can contact art@dallascityhall.com or 214-671-8337.
