Richardson ISD teachers and staff will receive another retention stipend this year for their work during the pandemic.
On Dec. 14, the district board of trustees approved a one-time retention stipend for $750 for full-time employees and $375 for part-time employees that have been with RISD since the beginning of the school year and return in January.
RISD Superintendent Jeannie Stone said prudent financial management allowed for the second stipend this school year. A retention bonus was also awarded at the beginning of the 2020-21 school year.
“We could have never predicted the events of 2020, but as each new crisis situation presented itself, the wonderful employees in Richardson ISD and the Richardson community same together to solve unprecedented problems to care for families in indescribable ways and to ensure our student needs were met,” Stone said in a superintendent’s update video.
