Richardson ISD’s annual 5K Spirit Run is going virtual this year.

The virtual run and walk hosted by The Richardson ISD Foundation benefits RISD students and teachers and will take place Nov. 1-8 on a course of the participant’s choosing. 

The foundation provides funding for teachers and high-achieving student programs, enrichment and innovation for all students and rewards excellence in teaching.

Those interested in participating in the event must: 

  1. Register for the 5K with a friend or team;
  2. Head over to the RISD Administration Building at 400 S. Greenville Avenue, Ste. 101, Richardson, for packet pick up on Oct. 31 from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. The packet will contain a race bib, medal and shirt;
  3. Run or walk a 5K, or 3.1 miles, on a course of the participant’s choosing;
  4. Post a photo in your bib and medal while crossing a homemade finish line.

The 5K costs $25, and the walk/fun run costs $20. Special pricing is available for those 11 years old and under and those between 12-18 years old. Registration prices will increase after Oct. 30 at 10 a.m. 

The race must be completed by Nov. 8, and the time should be submitted to racechiptiming@gmail.com
