Wedgewood Inc., which is known for buying up foreclosed homes, bought the 267-unit property at 6466 Ridgecrest Road. The company also bought a 63-unit apartment building in Oak Cliff.

The apartments are across the street from Timbercreek Shopping Center and not far from the new school that will replace Jill Stone Elementary.

The buyer and the broker, Greystone Investment Sales Group, reportedly donated $615,000 to seller Nessel Inc.’s charities of choice as part of the deal.

Recipients of the donation included Nessel’s own The Pollination Project, which provides micro lending to humanitarian upstarts in other parts of the world.

Physicians Committee for Responsible Medicine, The Good Food Institute, The Humane Society Of the United States and 50by40 also received donations.
